19 Dec Top Places to Eat Around Kings Cross, Sydney

Welcome to you new home-away-from home, the Zing! Backpackers Hostel!

One of the first things we love to share with our guests are the best local places to eat, around our suburb of Kings Cross that are delicious and cheap!

thai power

1. Thai Power

Just 50 metres up from the hostel at 146 Victoria st, Thai Power is our top pick of local eateries that is so good and cheap! The food is always fresh and cooked to order and servings are quite large. This place is open every day and night and does a great $9.00 lunch special. We guarantee you can’t go just once during your stay!

juro's cafe

2. Juro’s Cafe

Directly across the road from the hostel is our favourite cafe with exceptional egg and bacon rolls, coffee and friendly baristas! They love to take care of Original Backpacker guests with 15% off your first visit and their famous breakfast special just for us! Bacon & Egg Roll + a Coffee for just $7.00!

3. Sushi Ria sushi-ria

Another local favourite is Sushi Ria at 127-139 MacLeay St, just a 5 minute walk from our hostel. Great sushi plus stir fries and lunch specials with good size portions, you won’t leave hungry!

If burgers and fries are more your thing, then you have to try The Burger Joint at 1&2/23 Darlinghurst Rd. All kind of burgers, wraps, fries and fish and chips are on the menu. You can even order online and get it delivered!

kings cross hote

5. Kings Cross Hotel

Around the corner on 244-248 William st is the famous Kings Cross Hotel. A typical aussie pub with multiple levels and rooftop, bars and of course a bistro! Great pub food, great atmosphere and great prices! You must try a lazy Sunday afternoon pub meal at the Kings Cross Hotel!

cafe holm

6. Cafe Holm

For great coffee and cakes you must try our friendly little local Cafe Holm at 165-167 Victoria St. It’s just across the road diagonally from the hostel. A cute little inner city cafe with sidewalk tables and friendly staff. The baristas are on their game and their sandwiches are tasty and filling!
